Ocean and Ice

Activities at sea require careful planning. DMI monitors and forecasts marine conditions to help optimize the operations and safety of professional and recreational marine traffic.

The left menu box gives access to forecasts and up-to-date information about current ocean conditions in Danish, Faroese and Greenland waters.

Marine forecasts, warnings, observations and advice are among DMI's most widely used services. We forecast waves, currents, temperatures, salinity, tides and also produce storm surge warnings. We also produce ice charts for Greenlandic waters and publish information about sea and sea ice conditions in the Arctic.

The Centre for Ocean and Ice, COI

COI is DMI's oceanographic centre with 50 employees specialized in ocean monitoring and modeling. We collect and analyse information related to the sea.
